Crowned 'the land where Golden meets Silver', Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is Uganda's smallest national park at just 34 square kilometres, occupying the southwest corner where Uganda, Rwanda, and DR Congo converge in the peaks of the Virunga Massif. It is the second gorilla trekking destination in Uganda and the only park in the country with endangered golden monkeys. Three dramatic extinct volcanoes — Gahinga, Sabyinyo, and Muhabura — dominate the landscape, all hikeable from Uganda. Gorilla trekking here costs USD 800 per person, offering a quieter and less crowded alternative to Bwindi.
