Nairobi National Park is one of the world's most unique wildlife destinations — the only national park set within a capital city, located just 7 kilometres from Nairobi's city centre. Covering 117 square kilometres of savannah and open plains, it is one of Kenya's most successful rhinoceros sanctuaries and home to a dense population of black rhinos. Four of the Big Five are present — African buffalo, black rhinoceros, lion, and leopard — alongside over 400 bird species. The Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage at the park's main entrance offers daily encounters with orphaned elephant calves.
