Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most visited wildlife destination in Uganda, located in the Western region next to the Rwenzori Mountains. Covering 1,978 square kilometres, the park is renowned for remarkable biodiversity — 96 mammal species including four of the Big Five: lions, elephants, cape buffaloes, and leopards. The park is famously home to rare tree-climbing lions found in the Ishasha sector, and its 612 recorded bird species rank it among the top parks in Africa for birding. Key attractions include the Kazinga Channel boat cruise, Kasenyi Plains game drives, Kyambura Gorge chimpanzee tracking, and sunset views from the Mweya Peninsula.
