Forming Uganda's part of the Virunga Conservation Area, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is home to only one habituated gorilla family – Nyakagezi – which you will track on this Uganda gorilla trekking safari.

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe/Kampala and Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative, who will brief you about the safari and set off on a journey of 9–10 hours to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park with a stop at Kayabwe for pictures at the Equator Crossing and in Mbarara for lunch.
The journey also takes you through the green hills of Kisoro – the Switzerland of Africa. Arrive at your lodge in the evening, check in for dinner and overnight stay as you prepare for the next day's adventure on which you will meet the endangered mountain gorillas. Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Wake up early for breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking, the rules and regulations to follow while in the presence of the gorillas, and what to expect while in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. In groups of 8 people, you will head into the forest led by ranger guides searching for the whereabouts of the Nyakagezi Gorilla Family. The trek takes approximately 2 to 4 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night.
Spend one hour in their presence as you watch them play, feed and groom each other. Take as many photos and videos as you like. After this amazing encounter you will return to your lodge for an afternoon of rest, alternatively you can go for a walk around the lodge. In the evening enjoy dinner and overnight stay. Day 3: Transfer back to Entebbe
After a leisurely breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and start your return journey to Entebbe/Kampala with en-route lunch. You will be dropped off at your hotel or at Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight.
