6 Days Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Safari
Embark on an Africa safari of a lifetime on this 6 Days Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Safari, offering you the best introduction of what Uganda has to offer — stunning road trips, amazing wildlife, a calming cruise on the massive Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park, and a face-to-face encounter with mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Entebbe for an evening of rest, recovering from jet lag and getting ready for the next day's adventure. Accommodation: Protea Hotel Entebbe. Meal Plan: Dinner.
Day 2: Drive from Entebbe to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After a leisurely breakfast you will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park with en-route stops at the Equator Crossing in Kayabwe for a chance to stand in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres at once and take as many photos as possible. Continue to the park with en-route lunch in Fort Portal, and on arrival enjoy a game drive as you head to your lodge for check-in and rest. Accommodation: Elephant Hab Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Boat Safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Today we discover the countless gems of Queen Elizabeth National Park on game drives and a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel — home of hippos, crocodiles and colourful birds. After breakfast, you will head to the Kasenyi Plains for a game drive with excellent sightings of lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, gazelles, warthogs and Uganda kobs. Return to your lodge for lunch, then head to the Kazinga Channel for an afternoon boat cruise. This natural waterway connects Lake George to Lake Edward and is home to hippos, Nile crocodiles, herds of elephants and buffaloes along the banks, and several water birds. After the experience, enjoy a game drive as you head back for dinner and overnight. Accommodation: Elephant Hab Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 4: Drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, check out of your lodge and embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a game drive in the Ishasha Sector where you can see the rare tree-climbing lions. Along the drive you will observe the landscape gradually transforming from open savannah plains to thick, lush green forests. Accommodation: Buhoma Haven Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 5: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
Wake up early for breakfast, meet your ranger guide and be transferred to the park headquarters in Buhoma for briefing about gorilla trekking and the right way to behave in the presence of the gorillas. In groups of 8 people you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek and head into the forest led by a ranger guide. This once-in-a-lifetime experience takes approximately 2 to 4 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night; you will spend one hour with these gentle giants watching them go on with their life in the forest. After this fascinating primate encounter, return to your lodge for an evening of rest. Accommodation: Buhoma Haven Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 6: Departure
After breakfast at your lodge, check out and drive back to Entebbe, passing through local villages with their lively marketplaces, tea and coffee plantations, smooth green hills and occasional wildlife. Enjoy lunch along the way and on arrival you will be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport to catch your flight back home.
