7 Days Chimpanzee & Gorilla Fly-In Safari
This 7 Days Chimpanzee & Gorilla Fly-in Safari is a Uganda primate safari package tailored for visitors interested in encountering Africa's remarkable primates — chimpanzees and gorillas — in their natural habitat at Kibale Forest National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park respectively. Domestic flights are used as the primary means of connecting to the parks.
Day 1: Arrive in Entebbe
Arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel where you can relax after your flight. Overnight at Protea Hotel. Meal Plan: Dinner.
Day 2: Fly to Kibale Forest National Park
Following breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport and board a flight to Kasese Airstrip. Upon landing you will be met by our driver-guide and head to your lodge where you will spend the next couple of nights. In the afternoon you will go on a guided walk in the Bigodi Swamp for an encounter with several primate species like black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons and several bird species. Overnight at Primate Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest
Today is for chimpanzee trekking, an exciting adventure in Kibale Forest National Park. Trek through the forest in search of these cheeky chimps, spending a magical hour with them. Return to your lodge for lunch and then have the option for a guided walk to the Bigodi Swamps. Overnight at Primate Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 4: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Following your delicious breakfast, check out of the lodge and be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On landing at Kihihi Airstrip, you will be met by your driver-guide and transferred to your lodge for check in, and spend the afternoon relaxing at leisure. Overnight at Buhoma Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking Experience and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters with your packed lunch and join other visitors for briefing. Then head into the forest in search of your allocated gorilla family — the trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. You will spend 1 magical hour with them, before returning to the park headquarters. Meet your driver guide and embark on a journey to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi — the deepest lake in Uganda and the second in Africa. Overnight at Arcadia Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 6: Relaxation at Lake Bunyonyi
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast, you can decide to spend the rest of the day at leisure or go for a boat cruise on the calm waters of Lake Bunyonyi, visiting and exploring the different islands while your guide tells you the fascinating stories about them. Overnight at Arcadia Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 7: Departure
After breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to the airstrip to connect with your flight to Entebbe where your safari ends.
