6 Days Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth & Kibale Forest Safari
This 6 Days Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth and Kibale Forest Safari takes you on an exploring journey to Uganda's most impressive wildlife destinations. Your safari starts with arrival at Entebbe International Airport; Kibale Forest National Park is the first stop for an encounter with Africa's largest population of chimpanzees and 12 other primate species, followed by Queen Elizabeth National Park for four of the Big Five and the rare tree-climbing lions, before concluding with the endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park – Bigodi Swamp Walk
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative. After a short briefing you will drive to Kibale Forest National Park with a stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for pictures and a chance to step in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres at the same time. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge; in the afternoon go for a guided walk in the Bigodi Swamp. On this 2.5–3 hour walk you will enjoy incredible sightings of several beautiful bird species including the prehistoric shoebill, and primates such as chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys and olive baboons. Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Today we trek chimpanzees — the highlight of Kibale Forest National Park, home to approximately 5,000 wild chimpanzees, the largest population in the world, plus 12 other primate species including colobus monkeys and red-tailed monkeys. The trek starts around 06:30 am led by an experienced ranger; once you locate the chimpanzees you will spend a full hour watching them play, feed and groom each other. After lunch at your lodge, journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight. Accommodation: Elephant Hab Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park at 06:30 am for a morning game drive — the optimal time for spotting animals. Enjoy opportunities to see elephants, buffaloes, leopards and lions, as well as giant forest hogs, bushbucks, waterbucks and numerous bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch, then in the afternoon embark on a two-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel — connecting Lake George to Lake Edward — showcasing impressive concentrations of hippos, elephants, crocodiles and various water birds. Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Start the day with early breakfast, check out and go for an early morning game drive in the Ishasha Sector in hopes of spotting the famous tree-climbing lions. After lunch, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park — home to approximately 400 mountain gorillas, nearly half of the global population, including several habituated groups available for gorilla treks. Arrive in the evening for dinner and overnight. Accommodation: Buhoma Haven Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Start your day early with breakfast at 06:30 am and head to the park headquarters for briefing at 07:30 am. Trek through the dense vegetation to find the gorillas — which can take 1 to 8 hours — following numerous animal trails that provide access through the forest's thickness. Once you locate the gorillas, spend a magical hour observing them as they feed, groom and take care of each other. Trek back to the park headquarters, then return to your lodge for an evening of rest. Accommodation: Buhoma Haven Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 6: Departure
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before driving towards Kampala with a lunch stop in Mbarara, then continue to Entebbe International Airport for your international departure flight.
